Cute place….Disappointed that advertised hot tub was warm at best…couldn’t get temp above 84. Jets barely working. Bed very mushy with a huge canyon in the middle.

Overall this is a great place. It's quiet and isolated. The house is adorable. We had a couple disappointments that I'm sure the owner will work on: the hot tub has an odor and only half of the jets work. There's a spa tub in the bathroom, but the jets don't work in that tub ... so don't get your hopes up. And there isn't really a fireplace. We didn't use the firepits outside but they look really nice. There's also some amazing hiking around the corner. We had a wonderful few days here despite a few disappointments.

My wife decided last minute to get away for a few days to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were glad this place was available despite being farther away than originally desired. We really enjoyed the property and how it felt secluded in the woods. We barely saw any humans yet alone any wildlife. We think that was due to the weather conditions. The place was clean and had a groovy vibe to it. We enjoyed the outside whirlpool although it could have been slightly hotter. We tried the swinging bed downstairs, but it wasn't for us. Lol! We were glad that the place wasn't too far from the Swift Run Gap entrance to Skyline Drive. We went for a real nice hike on the South River Falls trail and had a great time. The only thing I didn't care for was the Turkey Run Road which isn't paved. My Lincoln MKZ got through it okay, but I did not like it with that car. Other than that, it was a great trip.

Loved this place so much! It has everything you need and laid out in such a nice way for the space. We loved the big windows, the privacy, and all the nooks to sit and chat. Honestly my dream home! The house itself was so clean and cozy. My only complaint is that the hot tub was kind of dirty and the cover smelt like mold. Kind of disappointing because we specifically looked for a place with a hot tub in the winter and spent the extra money for it, but weren't very eager to get in after all. Other than that, we still LOVED the place and will visit again in the future!

Property is relatively close to Shenandoah National Park. Very quiet and peaceful.

The place was just as expected.

Building fires, soaking in the hot tub, eating well, watched a few movies, interesting space, lots of stuff to see and do!

Perfect weekend getaway. Peaceful and quiet with beautiful surroundings.

Ridiculous stay. Honestly you’re better off going to Lydia Mountain Cabins or making the trip to Massanutten. Few insights from our stay; We are a married couple and rented this TWO bedroom cabin. We also brought our dog. I graciously notified Linda (the owner) that we would be having another couple stay with us for one night. At that time Linda mentioned additional “fees” for the “extra guests”. Reminder: this is listed and advertised as a two bedroom rental. Upon arrival we were “greeted” by a collarless pit bull who was inches away from attacking our dog. Without any immediate response from the owner we managed to get in touch with animal control. Thankfully there was a kennel on the property & a neighbor came by 2-3 hours later to get said pit bull. Once inside the cabin we discovered the dishwasher full, so we re-ran & unloaded so we could keep our own dishes tidy. This was not a big issue at the time. The trash can was overflowing & at the bottom of the driveway. So all trash had to stay INSIDE the cabin all weekend. We didn’t want a critter to drag trash around the property if we left the trash bag outside. This was also not a huge issue at the time. When we departed we let Linda know that we vacuumed & stripped the beds. All sheets & such were placed in front of the washer. We vacuumed multiple times to ensure pet hair was taken care of. She was notified about the trash situation & the dishes as well. A few days later we received a notification of an additional charge for the guests & extra cleaning. The owner claimed her cleaning crew had to spend an extra hour to vacuum dog hair. The crew sent photos to Linda & she forwarded them to me. Out of the 6 photos, 3 were of the outside porch. The three interior included an image of a glass coffee table that had I kid you not 7 STRANDS of dog hair, the ceiling fan that had 3 STRANDS of dog hair, and one carpeted area where a “tuft” of dog hair was (smaller than the size of a standard post-it note). She requested $75 for the extra cleaning. The “additional guest charge” was $100. Linda claims this fee “is due to linens used.” So had we been a couple that sleeps in separate beds & had no “additional guests” WOULD THE FEE STILL APPLY LINDA???? Ridiculous.

My new husband and I are planning a much larger honeymoon in about a year so we wanted to quick, three day getaway after our wedding to relax in the beautiful mountains. This house was just what we were looking for. We brought our dog with us and spent three days offline, in the woods and relaxing. Loved this location. And bonus for the hot tub! If you are wanting a vacay that is off the grid - no wifi or cable but a million awesome classic movies on dvd - definitely would recommend this house.
