Wonderful cabin and fantastic location. My husband had to do one more sojourn in the hot tub or we would have already been gone. Highly recommend El Gordo!

We really enjoyed the stay for a week at this cabin and would highly recommend it. The cabin was very clean and very kept. The hot tub was very clean and and nice to relax in the screened in porch area..Plenty of space and they had all the essentials.The service for towel swap and trash removal was great and they did a good job with that.. The cabin was very private but not too far from all the adventures. Summersville Lake is close by and we thoroughly enjoyed taking the boat up there again. Ace Adventure has a very nice water park filled with obstacle courses and we all enjoyed it. The owners were very helpful answering any questions before we came and they were very good at answering the phone with any other questions we had once we arrived. A great place to get away from it all! We plan to come back. Thanks

We loved our stay at El Gordo! The cabin is beautiful, secluded, and fit all eight of us perfectly. The location is perfect for exploring New River Gorge National Park and the surrounding ample outdoor opportunities. We loved relaxing after a long day of hiking by the fire, in the hot tub, or on the screened in porch! Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and ample towels and soaps were provided. Anna also baked us delicious cookies which was such a sweet touch! This cabin is an awesome place to stay — I highly recommend it!

We had a great time! The cabin was wonderful and the jacuzzi on the porch was so relaxing! Great location for hooking up with rafting outfitters! Very considerate owners contacted us with options when electricity was out! Your concern for us was greatly appreciated. Luckily, electricity came back on in late evening! A few comments to improve our stay - more entrance lights, low hanging branches rub on large (Ford 250 truck) vehicles, bathrooms difficult for those with mobility issues, more plates and utensils might reduce dishwasher use. Great area and retreat! We hope to be back!

El Gordo was a fantastic place to stay. It is close to everything in the New River Gorge. It was very clean and the hot tub was a great way to end the day.

The cabin itself is cozy and very nice, and was easy to find on our trip to the area. It was very clean upon our arrival, and had pretty much all of the amenities we needed (and then some). The location of the cabin allows for relatively quick trips to hiking trails, the Bridge, restaurants/grocery stores, etc., but still felt secluded. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants to visit the New River Gorge, or who would just like to have a quiet, relaxing getaway.

LOVED this little cabin!! And Anna, the host, even baked cookies for our arrival!! :) THANKS FOR EVERYTHING!! :) We'll be back for some cat-walking and whitewater rafting some day soon! :)
