Overview
Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
Fontaine de Vaucluse, Vaucluse, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur
Haven of Peace in the Heart of the Village with Magnificent Views.

A charming 200 year old stone house with sunny/shaded Provence-style courtyards in the heart of a beautiful, relaxing tourist village famous for its freshwater spring.

3 star Gites de France rating.
The house is big, bathed in sunlight and in a dominant location with breathtaking views over the village, river, castle and cliffs. It is a haven of peace, lulled by the river below and yet less than 2 minutes walk from the many restaurants and little shops, the sites, the riverside park, the museums, the trout fishing, canoeing, hiking...

Outdoors there are two private typical stone courtyards with a choice of sun or shade:
- one open sunny courtyard with table, chairs and flowering plants
- one semi-covered courtyard (25m²) with large dining table and chairs in the s...

Interaction with guests
My aim is to be helpful but not invasive. I try to always be present to meet guests on their arrival and show them around the house, answer questions and give information about the village and surrounding area. I then leave you in peace but remain contactable throughout the stay if necessary.

About the neighbourhood
In the heart of Provence, Fontaine de Vaucluse is a beautiful tourist village and an exceptional site of interest after which the department was named.
The 'fountain' is the biggest natural spring in Europe (5th biggest in the world). It rises from an unknown depth flowing out at the base of 230m high cliffs to create the river Sorgue.
The picturesque village is dominated by the ruins of the castle of the bishops of Cavaillon and is abound with restaurants and boutiques. It also offers swimming (river and public outdoor pool), museums, hiking, canoeing and trout fishing with golf and horse-riding nearby.

It is an ideal location for relaxing, painting or for visiting the beautiful region:
the Luberon and Provence
Getting around
There are local buses and trains, but we suggest coming by car to really make the most of the area:
Isle sur la Sorgue, the famous antiques town; the Luberon - the many hilltop villages including Gordes and Ménerbes ('A Year in Provence'), the ochre of Rousillon, the olives, lavender, vineyards, sunflowers...; the city of Avignon with the Pope's Palace and its lively theatre festival in July; the vineyards of Châteauneuf du Pape and the Rhône valley; the famous Mont Ventoux; the Alpilles and Saint-Rémy de Provence with Glanum, its Roman ruins, and Van Gogh's sanitorium; Arles and its Roman arena; a day on a Mediterranean beach or in the Camargue with the flamingoes....
