Excellent location that is right on the river. Would probably rate it 4-5 five stars but there are bats living in the in the soffits for sure and probably the attic. When we arrived we noticed a significant pile of bat crap by the back slider that goes to the deck. We removed it daily during our stay, but I am sure we were tracking it into the house. We found one dead bat on the deck and another injured on on the deck furniture. Owner says they are endangered species that he is working on eradicating. It’s a premium property at a premium price and I don’t think it’s right to rent it until the bats are removed. Owner should disclose the bat issue to renters in advance, but he doesn’t think it’s a health issue. We would have likely canceled if he would have disclosed it.

Our stay was a "End of Summer/Back to School" Vacation with 5 of our Grandchildren. We always try to go somewhere they can be outside a lot. The Current River in Missouri is a great place for water related activities and we have been on its entire length many times in our lives, but mostly camping as the majority of the upper sections are part of the National Scenic Riverways. This area is one of the first places outside the Riverways area that has Private homes on the River. We greatly enjoyed the stay and the Cabin. Our host and owner, Brian, was very helpful in answering questions relative to the activities we had planned! This home has an extremely large deck that is partially covered that we really enjoyed and the "spring fed" nature of the Current River, as well as mutiple shade trees nearby, helped to keep it very comfortable outside!... we even used the firepit even though it was in the middle 90"s outside to roast hot dogs and "smores" for the kids, without being uncomfortable. There was even a large supply of wood provided by the owner. Even thou there was no picture of the outside of the House on the VRBO website, it is a very nice "Log slab Cabin/Home... with a concrete walkway and steps into the River creating a perfect Eddy to put my small canoe in and take out. The cabin was very neat with a very large couch with multiple reclining backs that the grandkids thought was awesome! If there was anything to suggest to provide, it might be more glasses and plates. While there was enough, it looked like some may have "disappeared" over time, but we usually come prepared with paper plates etc any way so, not a big deal for us. So, in short, we would and hope, to stay there again!

This place is just beautiful. The location is perfect and you get to float longer and get out at the house. Will book again.

Beautiful property with large deck overlooking the river, firepit, and large front yard for the kids to play. The house is set up well for families with a large kitchen and living space. We vacationed with another family and brought kids ages 10-13. Everyone agreed it was a great set up. Small issue on arrival was immediately resolved by the owner. Great stay- thanks!

The home was better than shown in the pictures. Right on the water with a great view of the river. Provided fire wood for us. Would stay at this location again.

Outside deck entry were not cleaned of leaf litter and tree limbs from several months. There were mice in house needs extermination.

Clean, nice furnishings, spacious, a perfect location. Offers relaxation inside or outside. So close to the water, the sound magical. My 3 year niece’s words, I could live here for ever and ever! I agreed! Exceptional host.

Great time. Will be returning more often

It was an excellent experience! A nice getaway in a low key town. The cabin was very nice, a comfortable and entertaining stay.
