Great house!
Beautiful, spacious, historic home. Amazing views. Great outdoor spaces including an outdoor fireplace and a river across the street. The town of Luray is only a short drive. (FYI - the house was toasty, toasty warm upstairs (even when we lowered the heat). We didn’t need quite the winter sleepwear we all brought.). We look forward to returning for another visit!

Wonderful property - excellent location
We had a group of 4 couples get together for a weekend - the property was perfect for us. So many thoughtful touches - from unique artwork to comfortable furniture to a well appointed kitchen. The Host was responsive and informative. Everything was as advertised and better than expected. Don't hesitate to book this one.

Great stay!
We had a wonderful experience at Stonewall crossing. The property is amazing with plenty of open space to explore and lots of river views and direct access. The house was great! Steeped in history with really nice updates and a great layout. The layout was especially nice for us who had grandparents traveling with us because they were able to have their own secluded suite. Thanks for a great stay!

3rd time at Stonewall Crossing
This was the 3rd year in a row that we rented Stonewall Crossing for our family weekend in Luray. It was great once again. The weather was less than perfect (cloudy and foggy most of the weekend), but we had 1 day on Skyline Dr, a trip to a local pumpkin patch and some time on the river (love that the kayaks are available for our use). The house provides enough room for everyone to spread out (5 adults and 2 grandchildren) but also has everything we need to enjoy being together. We are in the process of booking our 2022 weekend at "our mountain house" -- that's what my 5 year old granddaughter calls it.

STAY HERE!
A wonderful home on the banks of the Shenandoah River, overflowing with peace and relaxation. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay, especially the quiet evenings in front of the outside fireplace watching for shooting stars.

Beautiful house and grounds
This trip included my family of five (2 adults, 3 kids) and some extended family of four 9 (2/2) for a week. We found the main level of the house including kitchen, dining and family room to be wonderful. The entertainment center was awesome. The instructions were clear and we were able to enjoy a couple movies in the "theater". There are plenty of bathrooms in the house and they are all quite nice. The bedrooms themselves were a nice size and mostly comfortable. However, I do have to mention a problem I had with the beds and pillows. The beds all had memory foam toppers on them and I am one of those people who can't sleep on memory foam because I wake up in 3-4 hours melting because of the heat that I get off of sinking into the foam. To solve this, I had to move into a different bedroom and pull the foam topper off the bed. Also, the pillows were really of poor quality generally. To solve that, I bought pillows for my wife and I. I'd suggest replacing all the pillows with higher quality ones and I'd suggest either upgrading the beds, or mentioning in the instructions for the house that people can remove the memory foam toppers if they don't want them. Moving on to the grounds, they are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the big fireplace and the orchard (fruits are delicious), and we spent a lot of time down by the river. We also used the kayaks which were super helpful to have on hand. I recommend taking kayaks both up and down river. Upriver has some pretty shorelines and some great fishing. Downstream is more of a longer flatwater paddle. We set a shuttle by dropping a car at the Massanutten Boat Ramp, which was about a 5 mile paddle. If you have kids or want to tube, you may want to find a place to take out that is closer. Finally, the Country Corner on the other side of the road from White House on the way in to Luray, is a great place to pick up some delicious items. I highly recommend!

Beautiful property, very private
We had a great time exploring The Shenandoah area for the weekend. Our group of 10 fit very comfortably in this beautiful home. The cell service is a bit spotty but there is WiFi available and getting in contact with the owner was always quick and easy. There are lots of bugs especially at night so just keep the doors shut. The theater room made it easy for us to all relax with a movie or some karaoke after a day of outdoor exploring. On a side note, the one bedroom with the bunk beds doesn’t have a shower, just a tub. But the guest bathroom on the main floor has a beautiful shower in it which made showering a group of 10 a breeze!

Very comfortable historic house
My family stayed here when my daughter was getting married in Luray. The house was very comfortable and clean. We had a little down time and my teen boys enjoyed the included kayaks. I highly recommend this house.

Wonderful House
Wonderful historic house in a beautiful setting. Beautifully updated with every convenience. Even better than the photos! Steps from a lovely section of the Shenandoah River. Fishing, kayaking, s’mores in the outdoor fireplace, meals on the covered deck, movie nights in the home theater- a perfect time!

Great place for a man-weekend
Beautiful property. Nice location in the Shenandoah river. Slept all seven guys with no problem. The river was running low so access from the property was easy.
