This trip included my family of five (2 adults, 3 kids) and some extended family of four 9 (2/2) for a week. We found the main level of the house including kitchen, dining and family room to be wonderful. The entertainment center was awesome. The instructions were clear and we were able to enjoy a couple movies in the "theater". There are plenty of bathrooms in the house and they are all quite nice. The bedrooms themselves were a nice size and mostly comfortable. However, I do have to mention a problem I had with the beds and pillows. The beds all had memory foam toppers on them and I am one of those people who can't sleep on memory foam because I wake up in 3-4 hours melting because of the heat that I get off of sinking into the foam. To solve this, I had to move into a different bedroom and pull the foam topper off the bed. Also, the pillows were really of poor quality generally. To solve that, I bought pillows for my wife and I. I'd suggest replacing all the pillows with higher quality ones and I'd suggest either upgrading the beds, or mentioning in the instructions for the house that people can remove the memory foam toppers if they don't want them. Moving on to the grounds, they are absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed the big fireplace and the orchard (fruits are delicious), and we spent a lot of time down by the river. We also used the kayaks which were super helpful to have on hand. I recommend taking kayaks both up and down river. Upriver has some pretty shorelines and some great fishing. Downstream is more of a longer flatwater paddle. We set a shuttle by dropping a car at the Massanutten Boat Ramp, which was about a 5 mile paddle. If you have kids or want to tube, you may want to find a place to take out that is closer. Finally, the Country Corner on the other side of the road from White House on the way in to Luray, is a great place to pick up some delicious items. I highly recommend!
