Cabin Holiday Rental
This log-and-stone style cabin is located high in the Blue Ridge mountains at around 3,000 feet elevation. It is in the same area as the Shenandoah National Forest and this property borders the park land. You will not find a more private or mountainous cabin to stay at than this one. You will not see another human being for a half mile in any direction, but you'll see plenty of deer, bear and wildlife! Inside the cabin, you'll find spacious living areas, comfortable bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen and large HD televisions. When you look up "remote getaway" in the dictionary, there's a picture of this cabin! :-) Come to rest, relax, have fun and take pleasure in nature's finest wonders. Leave business, nagging email and your hectic work schedule behind for something quiet, peaceful and relaxing! We've recently worked on filling out the beautiful outdoor area beside the cabin with a large campfire pit, free firewood (stacked and ready for you, look at pics) and hot tub. This yard area has beautiful views of nature. This cabin is located "up Tanner's Ridge" as the locals say. In the pictures, you'll see two pictures showing the beautiful overlooks and mountains that you see as you drive to and from the cabin. You'll want to stop and get your own pictures on the drive. * 2 Queen Beds, 1 Bunk Bed, 1 Sleeper Sofa * Hot Tub * Deck * Charcoal Grill * Full Kitchen * Satellite TV * A/C, heat * Indoor gas fireplace * Washer/dryer * DVD Movie Library * Board games * Long distance calling * Pack-and-play crib FAQ / Cabin Rules: Check-in 3:00 PM Check-out 11:00 AM 2 dogs max $50 each - No cats PLEASE NOTE for November - March bookings: During these winter months, a four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) vehicle is required. This cabin was amazing! I would totally rent this again! The access road is mountainous as expected so 4WD is a must even if just to give you peace of mind. We pulled up and the cabin exterior is charming! Back “yard” area is great, big fire pit, grill, hot tub, wood etc. The hot tub was so relaxing and useful after long hikes in the park! Kitchen had everything we needed, measuring cup, glass baking dishes and sheet pans. Has all the other basics as well as having laundry which was also really useful. I enjoyed the feel and design of the cabin. The bed was also really comfy! I’m going to attach as many photos as I can.

Such a cozy cabin away from everything and at the same time close to all there is to do and see in and around Shenandoah National Park! The cabin provided everything we needed with some great extras… relaxing in the hot tub…great outdoor fire pit…cozy indoor fireplace for watching TV or reading on the comfy couch…beautiful night sky…surrounded by mountains & forest. It was perfect!

We could not have asked for a more perfect spot to run away to for our anniversary. We needed a getaway, and this was THE place - not too far from our NOVA home, but far enough to feel like a nice trip to a remote cabin. They weren't kidding when they say this cabin is remote, by the way. We didn't see one person the whole time we were there! The dogs didn't bark once - glorious! And speaking of dogs, if you have them, you can bring them. Ours were in heaven. We enjoyed the hot tub, playing games, relaxing in the silence. We took walks and just reveled in the peace. Now the cabin IS a ways up - "High Ridge" isn't just a poetic description of this place. Be prepared. Stores are not close by, so bring your food and whatnot and be prepared to settle in until you decide to go into town.

Was very quiet. The dirt road going up is well maintained and safe. Luray is very close with the cave and car museum, and Cooters is just down the road. Train station museum in Luray was nice to visit also.

Love the remoteness of the cabin. The rustic cabin is clean and cozy, a perfect family getaway; I couldn't tell that dogs stayed there, as they did allow our German shepherd to stay, because the place was clean without a trace of family pet. Be wary of the drive to the cabin as it has steep curvy inclines and declines. The Shenandoah rental company gave great directions, but we still almost got lost. My parents definitely did. The kitchen and the family room space is comfortable for 6-8 people and the kitchen appliances and all furnishing were wonderful and not worn out. I can tell they thought of all the details that a renter may need and supply them. We had hot temperature but the air-condition unit worked well. My recommendation is to replace the fan unit in the back bedroom since it only blows out warm air. Invest in a heater/ac portable unit. I like mine from Costco and it wasn't that expensive. Also the house number sign was hidden by grass..if you can make a wooden post with the house number in front of the grassy driveway, that will be helpful for many.

We booked a stay over NYE for our family of 4 as a change of pace and scenery before virtual elementary school and hectic jobs kicked off again in quarantine. The cabin is quite charming, situated beautifully on the mountainside. It was SO quiet there! We all enjoyed wondering around the mountain roads (never saw a person, but plenty of wildlife) and soaking in the hot tub. There were a few hiccups during our stay, but the property managers, housekeeper (Laura is great!), and owners were so helpful, accommodating and responsive. We hope to return to the cabin again someday!!

This cabin was the perfect weekend getaway! Myself and my boyfriend and another couple spent our Labor Day weekend here and had the most relaxing and offline weekend. We utilized the hot tub and the fire pit on our first night, with gorgeous views to wake up to the following morning. The kitchen was fully stoked with all the utensils we needed, allowing us to cook our own meals and snacks all weekend. We loved the large selection of movies and games, and played many board games that none of us had seen in years! We went to a vineyard nearby and hiking through Shenandoah, with this cabin being the perfect home base. As DC residents, this cabin was the most wonderful getaway from the city and we hope to be able to return next year!

We really enjoyed our stay here. A perfect get away from the chaos going on in the world (and DC) right now. We really wanted something that was super private and remote feeling without being in the middle of nowhere and this is a 10/10 on that front. We hiked old rag one day and canoed the Shenandoah another and spent afternoons and evenings at the cabin. What a wonderful place to relax. We rent cabins down this way several times a year and our usual rule is never stay in the same places twice. I think we will have to break the rule for this one. Why? Perfection!

The location was great - we would definitely go back! We took full advantage of the amazing view, deck with outdoor seating and grill, hot tub, and fire pit. Our dog loved the trip too! The only note would be about bugs; this is to be expected in a mountain cabin, but it was an ongoing issue inside the cabin despite efforts we made to keep doors closed, etc. The drive up is steep but certainly manageable and well worth it!
