The owners live next door so somebody will be around should you have any problems. We are happy for you to invite the odd friend or relative to visit during the day either in the house or garden but the facilities are too small for a party.

Interaction with guests:Â The owners live next door so you can have as much interaction as you would like. They can suggest places to go for days out, restaurants and lovely walks. They are happy to show you walks with the dogs and perhaps where the beaver is along the river Otter.
Alternatively they are happy to leave you alone to get on with your holiday.
We had a lovely 4 days in Badgers Den. Mandy and Leo were excellent hosts recommending things to do around the area and good dog walks. The location was fabulous, a short walk to the town and easy to access any of the East Devon towns by car.
My only slight gripe was that the beds were a bit too soft for me, but that’s a minor inconvenience!

Cozy Devon Retreat

Lovely comfortable cottage
Badgersden is a lovely thatched, chocolate box cottage, set in a lovely country lane and only a few minutes from Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Budleigh to Exmouth cycle path and the Jurassic Coast Path.
We have rented cottages for many years and we consider ourselves to be quite choosy. Badgersden is without doubt, one of the best cottages we have stayed in. We will be staying again and we would recommend the cottage to anyone.
Everything inside the cottage is very good quality, lovely comfortable sofas, comfortable beds, plenty of crockery and kitchen utensils.
Outside there is a secure rear garden, plenty of easy safe car parking on the driveway.
On arrival there was a lovely home made cream tea waiting for us and milk in the fridge for our tea.

Lovely little get away in the country
The cottage was wonderful and the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is the perfect breath of fresh air away from city life.
Will definitely be visiting again!

Excellent Cottage
Excellent cottage, very clean and nice cosy atmosphere. very enjoyable stay!
Only downside was wifi problems, not working in bedrooms upstairs, which was a shame, hope this can be fixed.
Had a really good time, recommended.

Great Cottage and wonderful dog friendly hosts
This is a great cosy cottage in a wonderful peaceful location but easy access to Exmouth and Devon. Every need is catered for down to the very last detail. Mandy and Leo are very welcoming with a cream tea on arrival. Honey and Sooty their Labradors were very friendly with our dog and we walked with Leo who showed us the beautiful countryside. There is a pub within walking distance and the beach close by. It was a wonderful restful stay and we will visit again.

Excellent and welcoming Cosy cottage with lovely hosts.
We loved the is characterful cottage. Delightfully appointed accomodation and cosy for winter stays. We had a wonderful Christmas stay and Mandy and Leo did so much to make us feel welcome . Dog was welcomed too by 2 lovely host dogs!
We loved the position with easy access to Devon's Beaches and Exeter and Woodbury Common.
I will come again I hope but my elderly relatives much enjoyed their Christmas holiday here! Thanks so much.

Outstanding property
Beautiful property with outstanding amenities. Only a short walk to the local pub, shops and coast.
The owners were extremely accommodating and we were greeted with a homemade cream tea on arrival.
We couldn't recommend this property enough and thoroughly look forward to returning soon.

About the neighbourhood
Badgers Den is in a rural location in an area of outstanding natural beauty just outside the town of Budleigh Salterton. It is surrounded by fields and about 1 km away from the start of the Budleigh commons and fishing reservoir. The commons are great for walking, and off road cycling. In the other direction it is about 1 mile to the beach and the jurassic coast. There is a disused railway line approximately 200yards up the lane which takes you to Exmouth - great for dog walking and cycling.
Getting around
The is a bus from the village of Knowle 100 metres although it is not very frequent it goes to Sidmouth and Exmouth where you can catch a train into Exeter.
The location is ideal as a base if you have a car as it is quite easy to go to Dartmoor, Torquay area or to Dorset and fossil hunting at Lyme Regis
