The cottage is really nice and located in a quiet place. We appreciated having 2 bedrooms, instead of the more common pullout solution. Also a small refrigerator/freezer instead of the typical mini fridge/freezer. One thing that maybe not be clear from the description is that the apartment is on the second floor of the property (above the garage), so you do have to climb, on the flip side the view is nice, the deck is high, and nothing is going to come up and bother you (except mosquitoes maybe).
The Stanhope area is quiet, but very well located on the island. The beach is nearby, and you can either drive (pay for daily pass to access this Park Canada area), or an easy 10 minutes hike through a small path. Whether you chose to pay or walk, it's totally worth it.
The stars of this place are Ellen and Rob. They are really helpful, gave plenty of recommendations, even in real-time when we texted to say we were going to be behind schedule coming in and that we were looking for a place to eat in Charlottetown... We were not disappointed.
Both the cottage in our hosts made for a very pleasant stay in PEI.

L’appartement est très propre et bien équipé. Ellen et Robert sont des hôtes très accueillants. Et ils parlent très bien en français. Ellen nous a transmis une liste de restaurants et se montrait toujours disponible pour nous. Une plage est à 8 minutes à pied de l’appartement. Un très beau séjour!

We had a wonderful family getaway in Stanhope. Our hosts were lovely and gave many very helpful suggestions on the area, sightseeing and dining.
The cottage itself was SPOTLESS! It’s a very nice, secluded area. Definitely buggy at night, but the whole island seems to be.
Cottage location was perfect for our exploring. Short drive to Charlottetown, close to amenities and lots of towns to visit between 20min and 1 hour drive. It was a great central point for seeing new parts of PEI (for us).
We were also travelling with our toddler. The area is silent at night and she slept like a dream. Bonus!
Can’t wait to return to Stanhope. Highly recommended

High Above The Trees
We went to PEI for a memorial service of a dear friend ,however, our stay our stay at Ellen’s Cottage was more than we expected. She was most cooperative when we couldn’t get wifi to operate and Rob ,her husband, even provided “rabbit ears” to enable my husband to watch the Stanley Cup!
Then they invited us to their place ( choose the night) for appetizers and drinks -way beyond what is expected- my only wish that evening was that I knew more about cars because her husband is!
The only drawback to Ellen’s place was that you had to be able to do stairs( with groceries) so it’s only a spot for those who are not physically challenged! Luckily, we are not.
If you like golf, fine eating and the beaches, this is the place for you.
