We stayed here for 6 nights. We rented out 2 units for our family. We kept very busy everyday. Ted brought us to a place to feed monkeys and set us up with a boat ride to Tortuga Island for snorkeling and lunch which was a lot of fun! We visited Jaco twice during our stay once for the beach and once to go on an ATV ride. We also went to Monteverde for zip lining and hiking. It was a great location for a "home base" The units were comfortable and the pool was beautiful...sunsets were amazing. We hope to be back again!

I spent 6 nights in this place in Dec 2016. The room was very well-lighted, spacious and clean, well-equipped, and having a fully functional kitchen. In the daytime, there was great views of the garden and the sea below. Ted and Irene were wonderful and helpful hosts. The location is suitable for day trips to either Monteverde or the beach. An ideal place for laying back and enjoying the sunshine and warmth of Costa Rica.

First off, I want to say thank you to Ted and Irene. You were both more than friendly to my girlfriend and I and you were incredibly helpful as well. That being said, onto the review we go. This place was amazing. The infinity pool overlooks what may be the best sunset in Central America. The grounds are very well kept and the condos are incredibly clean. As mentioned above, Ted and Irene were super helpful. They had great advice on what to see and where to go while we were there and Ted even woke up at the crack of dawn to take us to a local spot where you can go feed some monkeys. It made our trip. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place along the central pacific coast of Costa Rica. I know I'll be back if I'm ever in the area.

As others have mentioned, the view from this location is stunning. One can soak up the sun or lounge in the pool and take it all in. The yard is nicely landscaped, as well, and there is a great area by the pool to sit out and relax or take a meal. Our room was neat, well-outfitted, clean and comfortable and included a table and a couple of chairs outside the door that got a great deal of use, especially during the morning coffee hour. The housekeeper did a great job, and we never wanted for anything. We ate out each night, but we could have prepared meals in our kitchenette or on the gas grill by the pool had we opted to do so. Ted and Irene are very pleasant host and very informative about the area and what to do and see. Their other guests were also delightful, and by week's end we felt like part of the gang. The site is also well-situated for those wanting to explore the western coast or some of the national parks around the San Jose area. Plenty of great food to be found reasonably close by, too. My wife and I will be highly recommending Iguana Negra to friends as a great place to stay at a reasonable cost. Thanks again, Ted and Irene.

My husband and I recently returned from a holiday in Costa Rica where we stayed at Iguana Negra a beautifully landscaped property located high in the mountains near Puntarenas with cool breezes and an amazing view. We booked for a month but arranged to stay an extra week and would loved to have stayed longer. The owners, Ted and Irene, were always available to share their knowledge of the area with tips on banking, car rentals,local markets, restaurants,tours,etc. The location was very central and we enjoyed exploring many of the interesting little towns up in the mountains, several beaches and towns along the coast as well as their wonderful National Parks even a ferry ride across Nicoya Bay. All within a short distance of our apartment. There are only 3 rental units so it was not crowded at any time. Lots of space to swim in the infinity pool and relax on a chaise in the shade of the patio and read or simply enjoy the view. Our studio apt. was comfortable, clean and well maintained with a kitchenette fully equipped with all the utensils we required. Perfect weather, friendly helpful hosts in a safe ,secure and beautiful location. What more could we ask?! Would love to return and would certainly recommend Iguana Negra to anyone wishing to have a relaxed and pleasant vacation in this country.

We stayed for 2 splendid weeks in paradise at Iguana Negra. My husband, 9 yr old son and I were able to have relaxing family time, enjoyed swimming in the pool and adoring each sunset. The weather was perfect, a little too warm for me some days so I could luckily retreat to a nicely air conditioned room. Wifi allowed us to share our many pics from our adventures of Zip-lining, Crocodile tour, feeding wild monkeys and even deep sea fishing. The kitchenette allowed us to cook familiar and local foods - the bacon from the market is like no other! The bus travels right by the place so we adventured into town using that method and taxi. We would love to visit again.

We stayed at Iguana Negra with two kids, 4 and 10 y.o. We all loved the clean rooms with AC, crystal clear blue water pool and astonishing views of the valley. The hosts were very welcoming, caring and hospitable. The beach is just about 10min by the car. We wish we stayed there longer!
