Symonds Yat, Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire, England
Tastefully created and set in the grounds of Norton House, the Apple Store and Cider Loft have been lovingly converted from old farm buildings to provide the highest standard of holiday accommodation. Securely set within the grounds of Norton House yet both with private gardens these cottages provide an ideal base for exploring the area. We are just a short walk from the River Wye and Symonds Yat so there is a lot to offer on your doorstep. For the walkers there are superb river walks and the Great Doward and Little Doward are easily accessible. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, the location is ideal for exploring the Wye Valley, The Royal Forest of Dean, Herefordshire and South to Mid Wales. We look forward to welcoming you soon. Lynda and David Whittle

We had a very comfortable stay over Christmas. All sorts of Goodies were there and also a Christmas tree. Lots of lovely walks in the area and information at the apartment for eateries and places to go. The dog was also welcomed. Thanks

Management response:

We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay in the cider loft. Thank you for the lovely review Lynda

Cosy, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need. Nice touch to have some basic supplies on arrival complete with cake! Lynda very helpful with regard to walks, restaurants etc. One point to note it is located fairly close to a main road so some road noise always present.

Spent a great week at the Cider Loft with my wife and our 2 small dogs, we found the accommodation extremely comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean, with the hosts being welcoming and extremely helpful, overall a very pleasant week😊

About the neighbourhood
Whitchurch and Symonds Yat offers great access to all that the Wye valley has to offer with Yat Rock being the iconic viewpoint.

Symonds Yat Rock overlooks a spectacular gorge through which the River Wye snakes. This rock is the perfect viewpoint from which to watch raptors. A pair of Peregrine Falcons that nest annually within sight of the rock can be watched through telescopes set up by the RSPB. Buzzards, goshawks and hobbies are also regularly seen and it is sometimes possible to see migrant raptors such as ospreys and European Honey Buzzards.

Approximately six miles from the town of Ross-on-Wye and three miles from Monmouth, the villages are a hive of activity and a popular spot for taking forest walks, canoeing, fishing, taking a cruise along the River Wye or enjoying a cream te...
