I am giving our stay 5 stars because it was truly one of the best vacations our family has ever had and the care we received from the home caretakers, Miguel and his wife Maria, was like nothing else we have experienced. The pool area and gardens around the house are gorgeous and immaculate, the photos do not do the beauty of the exterior justice. Miguel was out cleaning the pool early in the morning and greeted us every day to ask if we needed anything. Maria is also a professional massage therapist and she provided 5, hour long massages (without a break) for our family. We did have a few small issues with the house, but overall they weren't enough to give a bad rating. The inside of the house is beautiful and so clean and the sheets and towels smell freshly washed. Some of the window treatments and curtains are pretty old looking and are stained, but they work, so it is fine, just makes the house appear a little older. The A/C in the master bedroom did not work for us for the majority of our stay, which was a little frustrating because it got up to 95 degrees while we were there. There is a long note about how to get it to work and we also told Miguel, but I think overall it is on its way out. The fan in the master worked great though, so again, not a deal breaker. The A/C in the twin bedroom also did not appear to work very well and the fan is super squeaky, so not the best for sleeping. The drive up the hill is bumpy and steep at times, but so are a lot of the other roads in C.R. so it is not really a big deal. Also, we were hoping the Jacuzzi pool was a hot tub, but I don't think the mechanism is working so it is the same temp as the pool. It gets windy and cooler at night (too cold for pool) so a hot tub would have been awesome. *Just a heads up* This house is up in the mountains and you are in Costa Rican nature. Be prepared for native "friends" to come visit. We were assured by Miguel that they are not poisonous and that they are more frightened of us, then we are of them. Many of the neighbors around us who live there for part/full time brushed it off and really said it is just a part of living there and it is not an issue. One last thing. We hired two personal chefs, Hugo and Gabriel, on two separate nights to cook us a 3 course dinner and it was one of our families most amazing experiences! It really made our vacation special. They were so friendly and the food was some of the best we had our entire trip. We really enjoyed it

Loved the house, pool, and surrounding views. Coffee pot needs to be updated. One of the sinks in master bath was leaking, but Miguel the caretaker fixed it when notified. Definitely need 4 wheel drive for road up to house. Would stay there again if ever returned to area.

This place is amazing! Yes, there is a gravel road up the hill to take you there but it’s not as horrible as others described and well worth the views. Roxana at Tropical Homes was super responsive and helpful. Securing transportation to/from the airport through her was simple and the chef service was an added bonus! Miguel who is the onsite caretaker made sure we were taken care of and very nice. His wife Maria was wonderful as well. I can’t say enough nice things about the staff and renting this place. They made everything super easy and allowed us to enjoy our vacation. I highly recommend this place!

The staff at Tropical Homes of Costa Rica were great. They provided everything we needed. It was an easy check in and check out. Miguel, Maria, and son were very helpful and a pleasure to have met. Villa Oasis is beautiful and the views are outstanding. The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is because of the long rough gravel road to access the villa. Also I would highly recommend Alex Tours to book excursions. They were very accommodating, friendly and a joy to be with.

We expected our children to join us but their jobs interfered so we were in this large house by ourselves. The pool is delightful and long - unheated, but it was refreshing - the whirlpool is also not heated. Comfortable lounge furniture outside. Miguel and his wife are attentive caretakers who are very nice and efficient - our every needs were taken care of whenever we needed anything. They could not have been more helpful. Disappointed that there is no table for 8 outside - although there is a table for 4 poolside and table for 4 on the balcony, but if we had our entire family eating inside together every night would have been a pain. The lay-out worked for us, but maybe not for everyone as the family room/living room was upstairs and not near the kitchen. All of the furniture was nice and comfortable. It is a long bumpy unpaved road to the house - so a 4-wheel drive is really handy. It is a quiet refuge a few miles from town. A couple of houses nearby, but very quiet - a few ATV tours come up a few times a day, but otherwise a quiet atmosphere.

The house is beautiful with an especially nice pool and master suite. The main living area and view are on the second story. The only drawback is the road. A bombed out trail in Afghanistan would be easier to navigate. The day we departed we saw a road grader doing repairs so perhaps future renters will have an easier trek up the steep hill. Miguel and Maria were terrific as caretaker and maid. Nice beaches are 15-20 minutes away, and a decent grocery isn’t far. Roxana and Jesus at Tropical Homes were professional and friendly. Very nice experience.

Villa Oasis is truly an oasis! The view is incredible! It is not remote yet you feel secluded and private. When you arrive you will be greeted by the property manager and the caretakers. Miguel and Maria live on the property and they are there for you if you need them. They are non-intrusive but will respond to any need or question you have. Miguel speaks English and he enjoys conversation and sharing knowledge. Maria did one in-house massage and she did a great job! The house is spacious and clean. The main advantage of this house is the view. The pool is nice and Miguel cleaned it every day. Things to know beforehand but you will learn very quickly. When they offer you groceries already in the house upon arrival, do it! Our flights were delayed causing later than expected arrivals. We stopped for groceries but had very little space in the van. We ended up with no food that night and it was not enjoyable. Have groceries there and definitely rent a car for unexpected needs and excursions. The house is WAY UP a hill and it is not a quick ride to the store.10 minutes up or down due to the condition of the road but you will get the hang of it and it adds to the adventure. The views and the house is well worth the road situation! The house was hot when we arrived but be patient it will cool down. One unit was not working in a bedroom and Miguel had it fixed immediately. The grocery stores have the freshest food but we found it was better to shop in a little more "Americanized" stores. Do not buy things in boxes = stale. Buy things in bags such as cereal etc. Their prices are very comparable to American prices except for gas, about $4/gallon. Be careful when you buy at souvenir stores, they will tell you one price when shopping in store but hike it a few $ at the register. But, mostly, everyone was fair and courteous. Do the Playa Flamingo Beach and Coco Loco's for food. Amazing! Do the beach massage! The Monkey Canopy Zipline with Andre and friend, wonderful! Not too extreme! Sail with the Lazy Lizard crew! If you do the Arenal Volcano, do a guided tour. Do local cuisine! Ignore the rain!!! Roxanna, the concierge, was very helpful but responded quicker to phone calls than emails. The CR people are very friendly and they all want a tip, so have cash. They earn it though! Most places accept American money and credit cards, but learn the conversion. This was an unforgettable vacation and I give 5 stars!

If I ever write a review it is done a way after coming home, looking back at the pictures we took and give my opinion from a distance so it is most accurate. We traveled with 2 teenagers and it was suppose to be a luxury treat for all of us for different reasons. My daughter wanted to ride horses through the beautiful beaches freely with no helmet on, and wind in her hair...My son wanted to experience the nature, climbing forest and discovering new paths... My husband needed simply to rest -enjoying his rum in coconut "smoothie", and I really wanted to do nothing except reading a book. We did it all! Having the luxury and comfort of this huge villa we could spend time together enjoying our each and own schedule and making the best of the stay. Since we stayed over a week, I soon discovered that local grocery stores are very well stocked and it came very handy to have full fridge just in case of these evenings cravings for a snack or an ice cream . We did go out few times, and I have to say people are super friendly and helpful. You just find, they are sincerely interested in you as a person not your tip. The villa IS more than the pictures show and we were thrilled by decor, space, good taste and perfect location. Far away from any traffic to enjoy peace, and close enough to the beech and local entertainment. The views from the Oasis are astonishing and it makes it hard to leave even to dine out. All of us enjoyed the feeling of being disconnected from the world when connected through the wi-fi if needed. This was a big plus since 4 of us could use our own devices especially teenagers who do need internet even in a rain forset:-). Maria & Miquel were simply there if needed and it was comforting to know that someone is there for you 24/7 . We traveled from US and even though we do not speak Spanish it was great to be able to talk to Miguel about Costa Rica, what to see, economy, school system and even cooking:-). It was very touching to see that they both came to say goodbye when we were leaving at 3am in the morning! Like a family! I also found Rita being very helpful and it was great to be able to send an email with a question and have an answer within 15 minutes! As the time passes we do miss the Villa more and more. I refer to it as a "Dynasty" destination. If you ever watched this TV series you can feel like it again. In person. You just have to book this villa and experience this paradise for a week or two- as you desire. Go for it! Anja

Al principio nos íbamos para 3 noches. ¡Al final, nos quedamos 6!!! Gracias a Roxana por su ayuda por la reservacion. Y gracias a Miguel y Maria por toda la ayuda en la casa. Ellos son presentes todo el día, pero con mucha discreción. Cualquier duda que uno puede tener, están para ayudarle. Hasta, las ranas que intento quitarnos…. La casa es grande y cada uno tiene su espacio. Las fotos reflejan la verdad. Sin duda, volveremos.
