Everything about this villa is fabulous. The views, the pool and the management was perfect

Our seven person family (mom/dad, son/wife, daughter/boyfriend) and daughter who is a college age single enjoyed Christmas through New Years at this property and loved every minute of it. The road up to the house is steep and bumpy but worth the trip. The caretakers (Miguel and his wife) were super helpful. The staff at the property management company (Tropical Homes of Costa Rica) were outstanding in their level of support from arranging excursions to helping us in every way. We highly recommend this property for families with older children.

The google instructions given to us put us on Moneky trail, which was terrifying. When we met Olivia on the street we were screaming with joy. Everything you need it at the property. We had a party of 5 and there was enough space for us all. Miguel was so nice and we like him checking on us everyday. I hope everyone gets a chance to go to this property. Although it was rainy season we didnt see a drop of rain.

Such a lovely house in a great mountainside location, with unforgettable views. Miguel and Maria, the caretakers were so genuinely warm and kind people and took care of everything. They were so happy to have us staying. So much to do within a short drive. Great information given from the owners. The house was beautiful and the kids loved it. The rooms were very nice and the pool was really great, deep enough to dive into! The whole family loved hanging out in the pool, (daily cleaned by Miguel) and visiting the nearby beaches. We had a lovely sunset sail with lazy lizard, explored the local area, visited the animal sanctuary and saw tons of wildlife. Costa Rica is a wonderful country and this region is unsploilt and we hope it stays that way. We would highly recommend a stay at Villa Oro and hope to return here. We have so many wonderful memories. Pura Vida!

Absolutely perfect. The villa worked out very well for three couples. And the views were outstanding. Add the gorgeous pool, sunny days, and wildlife and you've got a five star review.

Listen here: this villa is dope. Plain and simple. The quaility of the build is top-notch, and I can say that cause I was in other villas on the hill. With the villa being up from the water, there is a nice breeze to keep both the heat and the crazier bugs at bay. They have home-keepers, Miguel and Maria, who actually care about you as a guest. Miguel can even understand a decent amount of English. The views are nuts and the grounds are so well maintained: its truly magazine-worthy. THERE IS A DOWNSIDE. The road leading up from Playa Petrero is not paved. Its a solid 5 mins drive up to the villa. I personally like the road as it fufills my rally car driver dreams-but i can see how some would be put-off. The Villa is fully stocked-floaties for the pool, yoga mats, hiking sticks. You name it they got it. It seems like the owner really put some time and effort into thinking what one would randomly want to do when bored at the villa. I'm heading back soon. My friends and I had an unforgettable time and with the villa only being 45 mins from Liberia Airport when taking the "monkey trail", the ease of it definitely worked for us Oh and Tropical Homes, the management company, offers everything u can ask for when u get there. They'll set up cheap car rental-stock the fridge-set up catamarans and personal chefs for the villa. Just really great service

I would recommend this rental to anyone. The house is comfortably designed and beautifully appointed. The grounds are well maintained and the views of the Pacific are stunning. The pool is deep enough to dive into. Nearby, there are fabulous beaches. The information binder provided to guests on the area and staff who tend to the house are excellent. This house could easily accommodate 8 people. We were a party of 6 ranging from age 9 to 70, all of us loved this place.

We were travelling with 3 generations: an infant, a three-year old, their Parents and.. Glamma. Hence, there were many details to streamline in advance of the trip and each one was handled expertly and efficiently by Roxana, Concierge at Tropical Homes. Roxana's quick responses and practical advice simplified the complicated and allowed us to relax and enjoy the beautiful Villa de Oro. As another Reviewer mentioned, the photos do not do it justice. The villa is on a breath-taking site with 180 deg. views of the village lights, the ocean, the islands and the jungle. Each night we were treated to an unrivalled long lasting sunset. The Villa itself is luxurious and relaxed. Vaulted two story ceiling in the great room with dramatic glass doors on two sides that can be opened to the breeze and lead out to a dining table on the terrace. Outstanding views from both the main and second floors and from the stunning infinity pool which faces west for those sunsets. We checked out several of the beaches but found that the best one, Pence Beach, happened to be the closest to the Villa. It reminded me of Maui and I suppose the way it was 50 years ago... maybe 5 oe 6 others on the entire Bay. Gorgeous! Two of us hiked from the Villa several days and the terrain and views kept us going. The freshest of air, the green scenery, and varying views of the ocean and jungle. Pamela, the world's best communicator, has a sheet on every detail you need to know about the Villa, local restaurants and transportation. We were so happy that Pam told us to take the Van transportation from Liberia airport to the Villa and return. Then Roxana had a rental car delivered to, and picked up, at the Villa. Villa and location worked well for members of every generation. Son went in to Tamarindo for Diving. Small kids loved the pool and the beach. We hiked and explored and lazed around. Thank you Pam and Norman for sharing this piece of heaven. Cannot wait to return!

This is my second time at this wonderful property. It is truly spectacular from the breathtaking views to lounging in the infinity pool on a hot afternoon. It really is something to experience first hand. The staff who pop in from time to time are lovely and work hard at making sure everything is just right. We also hired a local Chef who came in and took care of everything for me and my friends (food was delicious). Speaking of food, there are many great restaurants in the area... all within a 15 minute drive. The first week was with friends and kids, and there is plenty to do with the families... we enjoyed some zip lining and horseback riding, surfing (the kids body surfed), deep sea fishing (caught a nice King Mackerel for dinner), and of course some shopping in Tamarindo which isn't too far away. My favourite moments were sitting by the pool in the evening watching the swallows come in for their evening drink (dozens of them swooping the pool) and watching the incredible sunsets with a nice glass of wine in hand with my friends. The house is truly set up to relax... or to throw an impromptu dance session with your friends... it's well equipped with almost anything you'll need to be self sustaining if that's what you'd like. Enjoyed an late evening with my 12 year old daughter watching movies on Netflix.... I highly recommend this property to anyone or group of friends or family.
