Everything was so well organised and we had a wonderful time relaxing in the highlands. Such a great place to sit by the fire, sample a wee dram of local Speyside whisky and wind down. Glenarder is a beautiful highland cottage set amidst stunning Speyside scenery, pictures cannot fully do justice. Get away from the busy world ... reconnect and feel renewed, enjoy the unobstructed views all around the cottage and breath in the fresh Scottish air. Set in the beautiful Ballindalloch Estate, with totally unobstructed views all around you will be surrounded by heather covered hills, glens and Scotland's riches rural country side. Complete privacy and a landscape to take your breath away. Romantic, secluded and fabulous for families or small groups. Just as fitting for single travellers looking for some quite rejuvenation. THE COTTAGE. First and foremost Glenarder is a holiday home, a calming retreat, a place of rejuvenation and celebration ....therefore, the order of the day is comfort, warmth, minimum fuss and most importantly authentic to the Scottish Highland living experience. We are proud to say Glenarder Cottage offers you luxury accommodation and furnishings while giving you a relaxed style and warmth to the home environment - often not found in holiday rentals. We have designed it with groups in mind, providing two sitting areas which allows for everyone to have their own space (and TV if wanted). We aim to provide the basics to get you going such as coffee, milk, tea etc as well as a great basic pantry to use. The interior design is authentic to the Highlands and respectful of the cottage's character. It has been lovingly renovated and designed by ourselves, we come from a luxury fashion industry background and this is reflected in the selection of exceptional furnishings and finishes to make your stay special. Much thought has been put into anticipating your needs, providing warmth and comfort but also keeping it practical for holidays and Highland life. We have selected pieces from our travels around the world as well as as many local products as possible such as lovely Johnston's of Elgin Chair and a highland door curtain using local tweed made only 2km from Glenarder. The cottage was renovated in 2015 and features a large farmhouse kitchen, fantastic for entertaining, dinners round the table, or quite nights by the fire after a day outdoors. The kitchen and utility room has been designed by DeVol Kitchens, renowned for their -beautifully simple- handcrafted kitchens, an ode to Modern Farmhouse design. Bedrooms feature new beds which are luxuriously made up in exceptional linens and bedding to ensure great sleeps. The lounge features a wood burning fireplace, a large comfy Harris Tweed Couch and lovely views to the front of the property. Outside we have set up a lovely patio area complete with a outdoors fire pit, a bbq, picnic table and seating. We even provide the BBQ coals to get you started. Please see photo descriptions for further information about specifics and layout. Please review bedding and bedroom layout to make sure it works for you.More

A stunning secluded cottage surrounded by picturesque views. Lovely furnished rooms with great character and style. My wife and I loved our winter get away and the whiskey tours are all nearby as well as accessible places to eat.

World renowned for fly fishing on the iconic River Spey, Scottish country estates and the most castles in any area in Scotland. Speyside is famous for it's world class golf courses, fishing, field sports and working estates such as Glenlivet and Rothiemurchus. Glenarder provides the perfect home base for distillery tours.
