This is a nicely updated unit with a terrific shower, which was really great, as we were there during a terrible heat wave. The kitchen is very tiny, but adequate for lunches and snacks. It's not too far to walk to the excellent swimming pools, but in 100 degree heat, it did take some effort for us oldsters. It's probably better for younger travelers. I found the bed too firm, but my hubby loved it. We enjoyed one meal in the covered outdoor alcove, and would have used the lovely courtyard more, had it not been so dreadfully hot. Also, the wifi was unavailable in our unit, and a little weak in the one next door, but our friends didn't mind us sitting on their stoop occasionally to catch a signal. Our evening meals at L'Auberge, in front of the church, were fabulous, but you have to go down a fairly steep hill with cobblestones in order to walk from our unit. We should probably have rented a car, but knowing everything would be within walking distance, we didn't. We just didn't realize we would be that far above the town's main street. Once on main street it's a lovely stroll along the river to Montsoreau where there are markets and cafes, but on a blazing hot summer day, not as pleasant as it should be. So I would recommend it for earlier in spring or later in fall.
