Castelnau-d'Auzan, Gers, Occitanie
Etoile is very comfortable, well equipped gite in a unique setting. It sits in an open meadow surrounded by fields, flowers, wildlife and enjoys a beautiful view over vineyards, rolling hills and the local church spire. You know you are in France. We make every effort to ensure that our guests have a wonderful stay in this beautiful corner of this beautiful country. Steeped in history, The Gers is the heart of ancient Gascony. It is an area of rolling landscape, beautiful bastide villages, vineyards and wonderful regional restaurants. The people of Gers are extremely hospitable and all our guests comment on the friendliness of people, both in the local village of Castelnau D'Auzan and the nearby town of Eauze. If you want to experience a taste of French life there is no where quite like it.

Interaction with guests
We want all our guests to have a really relaxing, enjoyable stay. We make a point of being accessible but will not intrude. Some of our gite guests like to come along to the campsite for our orchard meals (July/Aiug only) and they are most welcome. We try to actively support our local community and guests will receive a warm welcome in the local shop, café, bakery and restaurant.

Really clean, quiet, idyllic location between vineyards and small villages deep in southern france. Loads of space around your gite and a short walk to the village for essential cheese, wine and an aperitif. Try the Local Floc and Armangnac. Hosts are really friendly and...More

We recently stayed in this lovely and spotlessly clean Gite. We enjoyed its privacy and huge outdoor space. We could walk to main campsite in just a few minutes. Castelnau-d’Auzan is a charming backwater with a weekly market, boulangerie and good shop for the basics(...More

About the neighbourhood
We sit deep in the heart of the Gascon countryside in completely unspoiled and very beautiful part of France. Our guests love the peace and quiet and the unusual rural setting of our gites. The people of Gers are very proud of their region and offer a warm welcome to everyone. The pace of life is just a little bit slower - at times a lot slower! Quiet country roads and lanes wind up and down through vineyards, fields of sunflowers and ancient woodland. There is a surprise around most corners. The area has many pretty bastide villages and historical towns. There are superb markets, particularly in nearby Eauze. It really is a special place and we hope our guests will love it as much as we do.
Getting around
One of Gers claims to fame is that it has no auto routes and virtually no railways. This has kept it unindustrialised and very agricultural, mostly small, family farms. This means that there are lots of quiet roads for cycling and plenty of walking routes. It does help to have a car or motor bike as if you want to explore the region there is limited public transport. The village is within walking distance so you can get to the shop, bakery, restaurants, pool etc on foot in 15 mins.

How to get there
Airport: Bordeau & Toulouse: 120.0 km
Railway: Agen : 60.0 km
We ask guests to meet us at the campsite as it is easy to find. From there it is only a few minutes to the gites. We are on google maps and Grison (our neighbour) seems to work best in GPS systems. If you arrive from Castelnau on the D15 we are on the route to Barbotan/Parleboscq. Please watch for a small crossroads on the brow of the hill where their is a signpost left. We are 200m along CR Seguret on the left. If you arrive from Parleboscq on the D15 there is a 0.5 km sign on your right at the feed mill. Watch for the big house with the tower and take a right at that crossroads.
