Entry to Fort George which is within walking distance of the cottage is covered by using the cottage friends pass. Ardersier, which was originally a small fishing village is located between Nairn and Inverness. The village has several convenience stores, pharmacy, post office, pub and hotel serving excellent food along with a couple of cafes and organic food producers with their own shops. Ideally located to tour the Highlands, you can explore fishing villages, mountains and miles of exciting coastline, lochs, including the famous Loch Ness - try to spot the Loch Ness Monster, Nessie. Visit the stunning Caledonian pine forests where you may see squirrels, Scottish Crossbills, Ospreys and Red Kites. Take a cruise on Loch Ness, stop for lunch at Drumnadrochit. Watch the boats on the flight of locks and visit The Caledonian Canal visitor centre at Fort Augustus. Return on the south side of the Loch visiting the spectacular Falls of Foyers. Also call in on the 14th century Cawdor Castle only 6 miles away. Cawdor was romantically linked by Shakespeare with Macbeth. Only 3 miles from Inverness Airport and under 4 miles to Castle Stuart Golf Course, you are close to Nairn with its wonderful long sandy beaches, the Speyside Way, Cawdor Castle, Brodie Castle, Culloden Battlefield, Fort George, Glen Affric and the world famous Malt Whisky Trail. Outlander fans have local locations to explore, Beauly, Culloden and Clava Cairns. Great base for golfers with many championship courses nearby. Good flight connections to Inverness Airport which is only 10 minutes away. The cottage is ideal for couples and pet-friendly. Dogs get their own hospitality pack which includes a toy and treat. Dog bowls, towels provided for guest dogs use. Free superfast fibre broadband WiFiMore

We have enjoyed a lovely stay at Dolphin View cottage, Ardersier. Have enjoyed a lovely stay at the cottage. After long walks with our two labradors along the path to Fort George and the common, or the beautiful Nairn beach, it's been lovely to settle back with a drink in the evening by the wood burning stove. Such a lovely cosey cottage with a well equipped kitchen. The cottage is always smart, clean and welcoming. Lynn, the owner, prides herself on providing a home from home experience for her guests. Dogs are not only allowed, they are made very welcome and with a secure rear garden it's perfect for us and our two labradors. Apart from the amazing views across the Moray Firth, the location is perfect for exploring further afield. The village of Ardersier is friendly and welcoming. The local pub and restaurant is dog friendly in the bar and the restaurant serves good quality food. The village has two good size convenience shops, a post office, chemist and good bus service. A perfect winter holiday. Back again soon! Elaine and Martin Calpin

Lovely welcome by owner to this lovely cottage giving excellent sea views, and great walking area, especially along coast to Fort George which is a working fort well worth a visit, and dogs are allowed in certain areas...There are so many attractions around with Inverness / Black Isle within 30 minute drive... The Cottage is very clean and tidy with enclosed, grassed garden, and holds everything one needs for a comfortable stay. All credit to the owner... We will be back.

Me, my husband and our little dog, Poncho stayed at Dolphin View Cottage for the 2nd year in a row. Dolphin View Cottage is an amazing place for a holiday. We enjoyed the spectacular views over the sea, the cozy log burning fire, the amazing walks and dog walking pathway all along by the shore. We loved the convienience of being able to walk to the shop and Pub in town. The accommodation is perfect, very clean, cozy with everything you could need including a super fast internet connection and an enclosed garden perfect for my dog to play in. It is the personal touches that make this place extra special and we will definitely be returning again!

We stayed here for 9 nights January 2019. This is a lovely cottage with log burner and the location is superb with views across the Moray Firth and lots of lovely beach walks in the surrounding areas. Our 3 dogs also enjoyed their stay and complimentary gifts. We will return.

Visited the cottage in November and had a lovely stay. The owner is helpful and friendly. Dogs are made welcome and receive a welcome pack including a small toy. The recent addition of a wood burning stove has only added to the charm. Sitting in the cosey longe on a chilly day and gazing over the firth to the Black Isle was so relaxing. Dolphins and birdlife can be seen from the shingle shore. There is a 2km walk to historic Fort George almost from the front door. The path surface is flat and hard surfaced. The village is friendly and has two very good pubs who serve excellent food. The Starr Inn is dog friendly. There is a good bus service to Nairn and Inverness, the bus stop is close to the cottage. There are two well stocked village shops, post office and chemist. I have booked a return trip in Spring

Dolphin View cottage at Ardersier is a lovely, clean, comfortable cottage in a pleasant village location with sea views. Lynn, the owner was there to meet us and our dogs when we arrived. There is a lot of information in the cottage about walks, eating places and day trips etc and Lynn will give more ideas if you ask her. It is very dog friendly and we felt our girls were really welcome and Lynn had supplied dog towels, bowls, toys, etc as well as goodies for us including eggs from her own hens. The cottage is warm, comfortable and very well equipped with a comfy bed and plenty of towels etc. The TV has sky freeview and a dvd player with a selection of dvd's. There's a good supply of local info, ordnance survey maps and books. The back garden is secure with a high fence and gate keeping dogs safe and happy. Two minutes from the cottage is the coastal path to Fort George, a great scenic walk. There's lots to do in the area. Our favourites were the beach at Nairn, Findhorn, the scenic drive across to pretty Ullapool and walks in the many beautiful forests. There's also visits to the many distilleries and the the drive down the coast towards Gardenstown. Of course it's also really pleasant to spend a day wandering the coast path and Ardersier itself, visiting the Connage Highland dairy who serve lovely coffee and cake and buying some glass from Half-a-moon stained glass on the outskirts of the village finishing with fish and chips from the van which stops in the village on Tuesday teatimes. Lynn couldn't make you feel more welcome and we're now planning a second visit.

Thank you Jean for your fabulous review. You certainly managed to cram a lot into your holiday, I agree with your highlights, Hamish, my dog enjoys Ardersier common and the Fort George path - it can take him ages whilst he scents all the other dogs who have been before him!. Glad you and the girls all had a wonderful holiday and I look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes. Lynn

The location was excellent for sea views and for easy access dog walks near the beach. Ardersier is not particularly a stimulating place but is an ideal location for visiting various places like Aviemore, Nairn, Forres, Inverness and other neighbouring towns. The cottage was comfortable and cosy with everything we needed and the owner gave more thought to our four legged friends than I've every come across before which was a lovely touch. I would definitely stay there again when visiting Inverness.

A beautifully kept cosey cottage with all the comforts of home but with such amazing views across the Moray Firth to the Black Isle its hard to tear yourself away. The cottage is pet friendly and has a neat, safe garden for pets to enjoy. Ardersier is a small village but has all the amenities of a larger place with good eating places on hand without the need to drive. Love it. Will be back!
