My travel tips for Perú:
When traveling, I prefer to generally enjoy the actual place as the locals can as opposed to the things that are clearly just for tourists or with so much pushy tourist-trade that it is all but impossible to not be constantly bothered.
My preferred travel destination is Perú, where my husband is from. We plan to be moving there within the next 10-15 years to a small village in the sierra.
My favorites: Moquegua (big enough and close enough to other cities to have everything you need but not touristy whatsoever--beautiful, lots to do, and friendly), La Molina (our neighborhood in Lima--has all varieties of income levels living and working together but appears to be a "planned" place with organization that makes it easy to get around and to have almost everything needed), and Huarochiri (our future home in the Andes).
